Where else could functional sports accessories be created better than in the Austrian mountains? Since 1969, the glove specialist ZANIER has combined its passion for the outdoor experience with a high level of innovation. To achieve the highest functionality of its products, ZANIER cooperates with authentic mountaineers such as the Austrian mountain rescue or the Großglockner mountain guides, for whom a safe mountain experience is of central importance. The result are gloves and functional accessories that reliably protect and warm outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year during all sporting activities.
"We stand for innovations that improve the outdoor experience while protecting our nature – because responsibility for the climate is part of our passion, just like the mountains."
Markus Zanier, Managing Director of the Austrian family business
Innovative gloves and socks
For over 60 years, the traditional company ZANIER has been distinguished by innovation and technological leadership. In 1999, ZANIER developed the world's first heated gloves and now offers four models with this technology. These flagship products enable people sensitive to cold and even patients with Raynaud's syndrome to enjoy outdoor activities without restriction.
The collection includes gloves as well as functional accessories for all types of outdoor activities, whether for winter sports, mountaineering, climbing, cycling or flying.
In the meantime, ZANIER is transferring the heating technology to other product groups such as the "Heated Socks", which keep the feet warm for up to 10 hours with extremely light, small batteries. The heating power is the most constant and reliable on the market. The six heating levels can be controlled via a smartphone app. The socks are also pleasantly warm without heating.
Certified by ClimatePartner
Nature and people – this is what the family-run company focuses on, and therefore has already set sustainability standards based on the SDGs of the United Nations in 2019. At that time, it was decided to calculate the CO2 footprint along the entire value chain and not just for a single business area. In 2023, ZANIER finally became the first ClimatePartner-certified glove brand worldwide and is still continuously looking for further new reduction potentials. All unavoidable emissions from production and the company are calculated by ClimatePartner and offset through selected international nature and climate protection projects. Independent organizations such as TÜV, SGS, PwC and others verify the exact amount of these savings.

Each individual product, each process and the company itself are ClimatePartner-certified. This means that not only the headquarters in Innsbruck has a Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF), but also each individual product has a so-called Product Carbon Footprint (PCF). The PCF takes into account all materials and energy consumption that occur in the various phases of a product's life cycle, from raw material extraction to disposal. Even if a lot of CO2 has already been saved in the production and distribution process through sustainable and durable materials, optimized packaging and packaging units, the manufacturers like Zanier still have a large share of the CO2 emissions on the products themselves.
The ClimatePartner ID of the company Zanier and the ClimatePartner ID of the ZANIER products transparently break down the CO2 footprint and the details of the certification and compensation.
