There are many events to immerse yourself in the nature of Bavaria, but how can the interested amateur find their way around? How to get to know and plan accordingly? BayernTourNatur helps by proactively collecting offers from various providers, listing them in a calendar, and presenting them briefly – a great service of the Bavarian Ministry of the Environment.
BayernTourNatur has been the central platform for nature tours in Bavaria since 2001 and is operated by the Bavarian Ministry of the Environment. The goal is to collect these events, make them accessible to the public in a structured way, and thus provide an overview of the various nature education offers throughout the year.
Every year, hundreds of clubs, associations, educational institutions, municipalities, authorities, nature, geo, and national parks, as well as individual experts, invite you to exciting outdoor events. The range includes sensory forest and bird sound tours, practical herb and mushroom seminars, as well as moor and meadow excursions. There is also plenty of exciting content for children and young people – whether it's research days, treasure hunts, jungle safaris, or holiday adventures.
The focus is on getting to know and appreciating the local landscapes with their animal and plant worlds and geological features.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary, an attractively illustrated wall calendar for 2026 has been published. It presents twelve protected areas or habitats throughout Bavaria:
- the Berchtesgaden and Bavarian Forest National Parks,
- the Altmühltal, Fränkische Schweiz and Spessart Nature Parks,
- the Rhön Biosphere Reserve,
- the heathlands in the north of Munich,
- the Weltenburger Enge National Natural Monument,
- the Unterer Inn European Reserve,
- the Bavarian-Bohemian GeoPark, and
- the Tennenloher Forst Nature Reserve and
- the moors in the Allgäu Voralpenland.
These areas represent the great natural wealth of the Free State of Bavaria, and you should naturally explore them firsthand. There is a QR code on each calendar page that leads directly to the regional event offers of BayernTourNatur.
Each calendar page presents one of these protected areas or habitats with a large-format image and a short portrait. The corresponding educational offers can be accessed via the integrated QR code.
