In the middle of the Bregenzerwald, the Fuchsegg Eco Lodge captivates with its enchanting location, surrounded by the meadows, forests and mountains of the Schetteregg nature area. Here guests come to rest in a pleasant ambience, alone or together.
The company
In October 2020, the Can-Hämmerle family opened the Fuchsegg Eco Lodge. Six buildings on an area of 9,000 square meters, each dedicated to a specific theme, blend harmoniously into the natural and cultural landscape of the Bregenzerwald. This provides an ideal stage for the skill, creativity and sensitivity of Bregenzerwald craftsmanship.
The focus is on outdoor exercise, inspiration and time together. The architecture, which is closely based on the building characteristics of the regional Vorsäß huts, contributes to this just as much as the regional cuisine and the self-image of a historically rooted and honest place.

The concept

The lodge sees itself as a space for people to meet. Open spaces offer the chance to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and to start joint ventures. But also the topic of sustainability is always in focus. All 30 residential units are furnished with local woods, wool felt, stone, a clay-casein floor and cork. Materials that were selected with a focus on ecology and healthy living. Blueberry served as the basis for the interior color scheme. The strong blue as well as the reddish tones provide a fitting contrast to the silver fir wood. Combined with this was a warm cognac tone, inspired by the color of the porcini mushroom. This, like the blueberries, can be found in the forests around the lodge. In this way, the team with managing owner Carmen Can created a harmonious combination of inside and outside.

The Bregenzerwald is a region with its very own character. The mountains are mighty but not sky-high, the peaks round and inviting rather than jagged and sometimes daunting. The green of the meadows and forests predominates. The tourist development of the region has always been soft tourism. The medium altitude of the Vorsäß proves to be an ideal starting point and destination for hikes and bike tours – also with the in-house SIMPLON e-bikes.

Everything you could wish for is there. A sauna house with two saunas and steam bath, the outdoor pool heated all year round with a great view, a wooden floor platform for yoga and quigong amid fragrant flower meadows and a panoramic relaxation room.
