Even in the jungle of the city – a trace more sustainable on the road
Dachstein can point to a great past in the field of alpine outdoor shoes.
Mountain and ski boots from Dachstein have long been a guarantee of solid performance on slopes and pistes, in terrain and rock.
Today, Dachstein is a brand under the umbrella of the Finnish outdoor clothing manufacturer Luhta Sportswear. Lutha, in turn, is very much in the Scandinavian tradition of sustainable business. Dachstein’s latest product, which is all about recycling and reuse, is the urban outdoor shoe ECO Explorer.
Both in relation to the materials used and to the production process as a whole, the focus of manufacturing is on the sensible use of resource-saving technologies.
The entire shoe consists of about 70% recycled materials, starting with the upper material made largely from recycled knitted polyester. The material is individually sized to each shoe size and only then knitted, so there is no or at least hardly any waste and thus waste.
The lining and shoe laces are made of 100% recycled material, and the non-slip VIBRAM outsole also contains recycled rubber. Finally, the protective elements on the frame are made from petroleum-free synthetic leather.
Overall, the shoe offers a highly functional set-up with snug, flexible and air-permeable elements, an abrasion-resistant yet grippy sole, good cushioning properties and reliable and durable orthopedic foot bedding and guidance.
A retail price of 189.95 is advised for the urban casual shoe, which will be available for the 2023/2024 season.
