Hotel Forsthofalm

You have to have a head for heights if you want to climb up the imposing wooden construction to the wellness spa area of the Forsthofalm. But the natural material conveys a feeling of security and the view simply amazes. The hotel satisfies longings that you may have harboured for a long time, but for which you have not had the time until now. Here, you will gladly take it.

Also because you can enjoy it without a guilty conscience. You notice that the concept has been well thought out and that the word „sustainability“ is not a buzzword but a signpost – for the design of the interiors as well as for the outdoor facilities. Natural materials were used everywhere in this all-wood building, and according to the hotelier, they are also allowed to „age gracefull“.

Some suites are furnished with moon wood. The wood is felled during waning moon or new moon. Many positive properties are attributed to it. This is not scientifically proven, but here you can test for yourself whether you wake up refreshed and full of energy from a restful sleep… The Swiss stone pine pillows and beds also contribute to this. Instead of glue and metal, 210,000 beech wood dowels were used in the construction. In addition to local woods, natural materials such as linen, jute and leather dominate in the rooms. The sense of smell can relax, the sense of touch is stimulated. And if you are in the mood for new taste experiences, the „Kukka“ restaurant is the right place to go – vegetarians and vegans will also find an unusual selection of dishes here. How about a radish-carrot-rum drink, for example?

Simply putting down the smartphone – not an easy exercise for many of us. But here at Hotel Forsthofalm there is so much to touch, feel and marvel at that the digital world is sidelined for a while. The right place for everyone who wants to venture out into the real world again. And for those who want to switch off, seek peace and quiet, but at the same time discover something new. Here, the architecture has taken nature as its model. The architects and the client have created a refuge that encourages you to shift down a gear. And once you have recharged your batteries, there are excellent opportunities to get active.

They are called Fatties – the e-fatbikes – and the hosts provide four of them for their guests. With their thick tyres with studded tread, you have more grip for the routes around the Forsthofalm. A cycle path network of around 740 km stretches across the surrounding mountains and alpine pastures. Enough charging stations are provided so that the Fatties never run out of breath. There is time to go exploring and pick up speed quite comfortably. For those who like, a picnic in the countryside is arranged. Here you can choose between hearty and sweet delicacies. And if you want to treat yourself to something special, order an aperitif on a log. Enjoy and let your soul dangle. This is how it works.
